Scalp DM (SDM) presents as erythematous plaques with overlying scale, associated with severe burning pruritus. Due to inflammation, it may also present with non-scarring alopecia. First-line treatment for SDM includes intralesional corticosteroids; however, to date, no therapy has proven effective.
